A carpet designed by students from the TxT department of the Gerrit Rietveld Academie, in collaboration with the weaving women from Amekhlij. Handwoven by Rachida.

In 2017, we paid a five day visit to Amekhlij, a small Berber village of 200 people, 35 kilometers south of Marrakech. After the locals had taught us the technique of traditional carpet weaving, we invited them to draw their own designs. We, the visitors, compiled the drawings to one singular design and commisioned the production of the carpet to Rachida. It became a gift for Hamid, upon whose invitation we had come to Amekhlij.
