the touch of textile

essay
2024

What are the added values of using one’s hands to create artworks? And what are the possible pitfalls of a sudden embracing of touch and textile by artists and art insitutions?

Weaving together art history, critical thought, and my own experiences of working with touch and textile, I wrote an article for Locus-Magazine for the Cultural Sciences, for their dossier about sense perception.

about

I am a textile artist, researcher, and writer based in Amsterdam. By means of artistic research, I aim to unravel them and investigate their potential to be interlaced in new ways.
