What are the art historical connections between art, textile, and touch? And how might understanding these connections shed light on both the unique value of creating art by hand and the potential pitfalls of the art world's recent (re)embrace of craft and textiles?

Drawing on art history, critical theory, and my own experience working with touch and textile, I wrote an article for Locus – Magazine for the Cultural Sciences, as part of their dossier on sense perception.
