site-specific installation
2017
A collaboration with Fieke Ruitinga, Cato Benschop, Katrin Naftz, and Mathilde Lalouette.
How to create an artistic experience for a busy shopping street? As a group of five, we were invited to make a work for Eight Cubic Meters, curated by Buro Rietveld, which is a public gallery located in a narrow street in the centre of Amsterdam.
After several initial meetings during which many big ideas were put on the table and then swept aside, we came to the conclusion that the location asks, in fact, for a much more minimal approach. We decided to anticipate on the short glimpse of passers-by and to create a setting for a story, rather than the story itself. As imput we used fragments from our own writings, combined with an atmospheric, screen-printed, blue backbone.

about
I am a textile artist, researcher, and writer based in Amsterdam. Through my work runs a tangible thread that is spun from questions about materials, hierarchies, traditions, patterns, shapes, and their relations. By means of artistic research, I aim to unravel them and investigate their potential to be interlaced in new ways.
