site-specific installation
2017
A collaboration with Fieke Ruitinga, Cato Benschop, Katrin Naftz, and Mathilde Lalouette.
How can we create a narrative for a busy shopping street? As a group of five, we were invited to create a work for Eight Cubic Meters, a public gallery curated by Buro Rietveld, located on a narrow street in the centre of Amsterdam. We decided to respond to the brief glimpses of passers-by by creating a setting for a story, rather than the story itself. As our material, we combined rycled fragments from our own writings with an atmospheric, screen-printed blue backdrop.
The work was on view from 25 January until March 17 2017 at Eight Cubic Meters, Amsterdam.

about
Textile artist, researcher, and writer based in Amsterdam. I work with textiles and other material forms as a way of thinking and researching. In doing so, I treat these materials as tools to expose and unsettle taken-for-granted views and naturalized routines of daily life.
