What does it mean to write? How does language shape our experience of the world, and how does the world, in turn, shape our language? What cannot be captured by words? And what is the power of the empty spaces between the lines?

The Word Lines Keep You in Time is a collection of essays that meet in the middle. The Lines features four essays reflecting on the nature of writing, focusing on its relationship to matter, tools, and surfaces. Between the Lines includes two essays exploring the formation of meaning, the unsayable, holes, intervals, love, and poetry.

Overall, The Word Lines Keep You in Time offers a personal and playful approach to rhetorical and associative thinking—doubting, interpreting, exploring, wondering, and, of course, writing. It was originally written as a BFA thesis and also published in TXT: Nine Days.
