weaving
70 x 60 cm
2022
My dad’s blog posts, which fall midway between diary entries and philosophical essays, appear more quickly than most readers can keep up with — myself included. By translating the data of his blog into a woven structure, I looked for a way to reciprocate his textual gestures through my own medium. The work also builds on historical connections between computing and weaving; connections that are echoed in the word web. Besides a digital network, web can also refer to “a fabric on a loom or in the process of being removed from a loom” (Merriam-Webster).

about
Textile artist, researcher, and writer based in Amsterdam. I work with textiles and other material forms as a way of thinking and researching. In doing so, I treat these materials as tools to expose and unsettle taken-for-granted views and naturalized routines of daily life.
