Crossing paths is the outcome of a research on the X-shape and consists of two videos shot and presented on two iphones. The videos show the paths of two women walking in perpendicular directions. When their paths intersect, only one of them appears in the frame, just for a split second. The action is modeled after the process of weaving, whereby many intersections create a surface altogether that is potentially stronger than glue. In parallel, there is a piano composition that explores intersection (”crossing paths”) in music, i.e. of fingers, melodies, and rhythms. The piano sound, in its turn, gets mixed in with the sounds of birds and footsteps from the videos.
